Car Accident Injuries and the Role of Chiropractic

The road you drive on has a lot of stories to tell, and some, like accidents, can even leave a life-long impact on your life. If you figured in a car crash, chances are you’ll get bruises, broken bones, and aching back, although what you sustain will depend on the severity of the impact and the circumstances surrounding your mishap.

Back Injury

Depending on the speed of your car prior to the crash, you can be pushed forward and backward at great speed. Such battering can hurt your muscles or worse break some bones. Your spine, which is the most vulnerable to breaking under such pressure, may also be damaged, leading to a mild to serious case of back pain.

Neck Injury

In a collision, the muscles, bones, and nerves in your neck can absorb some of the pressure just like your back. The result is whiplash or neck strain, or in worse cases cervical damage. The latter though is more serious because it doesn’t heal as quickly as muscle strain.

Either or both types of injury can be sustained in an automobile accident. A chiropractic treatment can help mild to severe neck and back injuries. By manipulating the bones and muscles, the alignment of the spine can be restored. In chiropractic care, restoring the correct alignment of the spine leads to holistic healing.
